World Swimming Championships come to NPAC

With the 2022 FINA World Swimming Championships (25M) being hosted in Melbourne, Noble Park Aquatic Centre (NPAC) will host several nations pre championship training camps from December 3-10.

Denmark, Slovenia, Iceland, Slovakia, Norway and Sweeden have chosen NPAC as their training base, highlighting the quality of the facilities.

With the countries utilising the facility, there will be interruptions to the usual hours members and patrons can access the pool, the pool will also be configured into two 25m pools to emulate racing conditions for the athletes.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused over the seven days, please see below an update with timings and dates for interruptions to usual service.

  • December 3-4
  • The 50m pool will be configured into two 25m pools for the entire operating hours across both days.
  • Saturday (Dec 3) training for the swim teams will be from 10am-12pm & 6pm-8pm. Please note that shallow lanes will be available to the public from 10am-12pm but the facility will be closed to the public from 6pm.
  • Sunday (Dec 4) training for the swim teams will be from 8am-12pm & 4pm-8pm. Please note that shallow lanes will be available to the public from 8am-12pm and from 4pm-6pm but the facility will be closed to the public from 6pm.
  • December 5-9
  • The 50m pool will be available to use for the public from 5:30am until 7:30am.
  • The pool will be closed from 7:30am-8am to allow lifeguards to configure two 25m pools.
  • From 8am-12pm, swim teams will be using all lanes in the deep end – public will be able to utilise the shallow end lanes.
  • From 12pm-4pm, the deep end of the pool will be closed – public will be able to utilise the shallow end lanes.
  • Swim teams will train again from 4pm-8pm using all lanes in the deep end – public will be able to utilise the shallow end lanes.

  • December 10
  • The 50m pool will be configured into two 25m pools for the entire operating hours
  • Training for the swim teams will be from 8am-12pm & 4pm-8pm – Please note that shallow lanes will be available to the public during 8am-12pm and from 4pm-6pm but the facility will be closed to the public from 6pm.
