Our YMCA Swimming Lessons Program is fully mapped to and aligned with Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS). We provide programs suitable for primary or secondary school students. In a practical environment students will develop physical skills, knowledge and understanding of a range of aquatic situations and participate in essential water safety and survival skills education.
The intellectual development of our participants moves beyond the physical and personal development aspects of the Swim Lesson Program. It aims to develop the mind through activities and learning techniques that promote:
- Problem Solving
- Decision Making
- Self Confidence
- Caution & Patience
School Carnivals and Events
Our 50 metre outdoor pool can be booked for school swimming carnivals. It features a boom which enables it to be converted into two 25 metre pools.
Other aquatic programs
We also offer:
- Aquatic adventure – for fun, skill and challenge
Whether you’re looking for a fun excursion or end of year event for your students, a venue for your swimming carnival, or an integrated component of your PE program, we can tailor a program suitable for your school's needs.
